After 4 successful years at Polesden Lacey, we are very excited to have the opportunity to hold our final festival of the season at nearby West Horsley Place. Inherited by Bamber Gascoigne in 2014 from his great aunt, the Duchess of Roxburghe, this Grade I listed, ancient estate has great historic significance and a fascinating story. West Horsley Place is now owned by the Mary Roxburghe Trust; a charity committed to restoring the house and estate and to create a vibrant centre for the performing and visual arts and the teaching of crafts.
The grounds present the perfect setting for this festival – visitors are guaranteed a fun, enriching and memorable day out with the chance to sample a wide range of food and drink from 40 producers and a rare opportunity to wander around the gardens and learn about the intriguing history of the house. For the first time, limited access to the house will be granted to members of the public, giving visitors a chance to step back in time and follow in the footsteps of the likes of Henry VIII, Carew Raleigh and several distinguished, high society families.
In our Talks and Tasting Hub, visitors will get to meet and talk to talented chefs and sample their food. There will also be plenty of children’s activities to keep them entertained all day.
